Jennifer Ruley of Steps was interviewed by WDSU about a $300,000 grant awarded to Drew Elementary school from the Safe Routes to School initiative. Steps and the Tulane University Prevention Research Center worked with Drew Elementary to secure funds to make changes such as sidewalk improvements, signage and curb ramps that encourage students to bike and/or walk to school.
